The MIC3001BML-TR is a fiber optic management IC designed for sophisticated, hot-pluggable SFF/SFP optical transceivers. It features an automatic power control (APC) circuit that manages laser bias and modulation, with temperature compensation provided through an integrated digital temperature sensor and NVRAM look-up tables. The device supports multiple laser types and bias circuit topologies, and it can drive external low-cost BJTs for laser bias. This IC includes a diagnostic monitoring interface compliant with SFF-8472, allowing for the monitoring of critical parameters such as temperature, bias current, transmit and receive optical power, and supply voltage. It also features a user-writable EEPROM scratchpad and a programmable internal feedback resistor for enhanced dynamic range. The MIC3001 operates within a power supply range of 3.0V to 3.6V and is compatible with 5V-tolerant I/O. The product is packaged in a compact 24-pin QFN format, making it suitable for applications in SONET/SDH transceivers, fiber channel transceivers, and proprietary optical links. Its extensive test and calibration features, along with a 2-wire I²C-compatible serial interface, provide flexibility and ease of integration into various systems.
