The MCP73830T-2AAI/MYY is a highly integrated Li-Ion battery charge management controller designed for space-constrained applications. It supports single-cell Li-Ion and Li-Polymer batteries, utilizing a constant-current/constant-voltage charge algorithm to optimize charging time while ensuring safety and capacity. The device allows for programmable charge currents ranging from 20 mA to 200 mA for the MCP73830L variant, and up to 1000 mA for the MCP73830 variant, making it suitable for various portable applications. This controller features a thermal foldback function that limits charge current based on die temperature, enhancing reliability during high-power conditions.
