The MCP1406-E/MFVAO is a high-speed power MOSFET driver capable of delivering a peak output current of 6.0A. It operates within a wide input supply voltage range of 4.5V to 18V and is designed to drive capacitive loads effectively, handling up to 2500 pF in 20 ns and 6800 pF in 40 ns. The device features short delay times of approximately 40 ns and matched rise and fall times, ensuring efficient switching performance. This driver exhibits low supply current consumption, with typical values of 130 ¬µA when the input is high and 35 ¬µA when low. It is latch-up protected and can withstand reverse currents up to 1.5A, as well as negative input swings of up to 5V. The MCP1406-E/MFVAO is pin-compatible with TC4420/TC4429 devices and is available in space-saving 8-pin SOIC, PDIP, and DFN packages. It operates over a temperature range of -40¬8C to +125¬8C, making it suitable for various applications, including switch mode power supplies, motor drives, and pulse transformer drives.
