The product incorporates SMSC's true CMOS 765B floppy disk controller with 100% IBM PC/XTTM and PC/ATTM architecture compatibilities as well as data overflow and underflow protection, advanced digital data separator, and one Multi-Mode parallel port with ChiProtect circuitry plus EPP and ECP support. One of the two UARTs includes additional support for a Serial Infrared Interface, complying with IrDA, HPSIR, and ASKIR formats (used by Sharp, Apple Newton, and other PDAs).
