The EtOH-Trode is a pH measuring electrode designed for accurate and reproducible pHe measurements in ethanol and ethanol fuel blends, as specified by ASTM D6423 and EN 15490. It features a double-junction system with a fixed ground-joint diaphragm to ensure constant electrolyte leak rate and stable readings, alongside a low-resistance membrane glass with large surface area for improved accuracy. The sensor supports both aqueous 3 mol/L KCl and 1 mol/L LiCl in ethanol as bridge electrolytes, meeting the requirements of both standards. It is one of two sensors explicitly recommended by ASTM D6423 for use in alcohol fuels. The electrode has a glass shaft and a Metrohm plug-in head G, with a sphere-shaped membrane and a minimum immersion depth of 20 mm.
