White float windows are cost effective medium performance windows and acceptable in a host of scientific instrument applications. They are cut from large sheets that are relatively flat and parallel and can be supplied in standard thickness down to 1.1mm. Thinner windows can be supplied to special order. As no polishing is required white float windows are extremely economical. White float windows transmit efficiently from 320nm to 2600nm and are a good alternative to BK7 or equivalent . They are an economical choice of window as the substrate material is available in standard sheet polished material in a range of thicknesses so no polishing is required, unlike BK7 or equivalent that is originates as block material and requires further processing of sawing and polishing adding to cost. When using white float windows without antireflective coating there is a small residual reflection. If this is significant then the AR coated versions should be used. We offer four versions of white float windows, uncoated, AR coated one face, AR coated both faces and ITO coated... Uncoated white float windows: This range of economical white float windows are available as diameters, squares and rectangles. Large stock sheets can be cut down for your custom uncoated white float windows. White float windows are ideal for a range of display, lighting and scientific instrument applications. White float windows antireflective coated on one face: Our 1mm thk white float windows antireflective coated one face with extended broadband AR coating (AV2 specification) achieving better than 0.5%R,avg.@450-900nm . Our 3mm thk range are cut from large 1000x1000mm sheets that are extremely economical achieving better than <1%R,avg.@425-680nm in the visible (AV8 specification) AR coated single-sided white float windows are available as diameters edged to accurate tolerances Squares and rectangles have cut and chamfered edges to ±0.25mm tolerances. We also stock large sheets of white float material AR coated on one side as 1000x1000mm in thicknesses of 2mm to 8mm thk for custom AR coated white float windows. The extended broadband 1mm thk type is available as 145x100mm sheets. White float windows antireflective coated on both faces: Our 1mm thk white float windows antireflective coated on both faces is coated with extended broadband AR coating (AV2 specification) achieving better than 0.5%R,avg.@450-900nm . Our 3mm thk range are cut from large 1000x1000mm sheets that are extremely economical AR coated large sheets working efficiently in the visible (AV8 specification) achieving <1%R,avg.@425-680nm. Our coating achieves less than 0.5% reflection in the telecoms band and 0.09% reflection at 1550nm. These windows are optimized for fibre optic applications in the S and C bands between 1460nm to 1565nm while maintaining excellent transmision out of the operating wavelength. White float windows ITO coated on one face: ITO coating is an electrically conducting coating used for a host of defence and aerospace applications. We stock ITO coated white float windows as diameter, square and rectangular apertures. Indium Tin Oxide (ITO) coated windows are used for displays, electric heating and EMI shielding applications. These ITO coated windows “Indium Tin Oxide” are vacuum coated to 20ohm. We stock larger sheets of ITO coated glass as 300mm squares so if your size is not listed please enquire about your custom ITO coated application. We can offer custom ITO windows to your requirements with different levels of resistance. We can also coat ITO onto plastic or polymers, please speak to our sales team.
