Heavy duty construction The Hammer Electrode plugs into any Protimeter pin type moisture meter. Its pin-electrodes have insulated shanks and it is used to obtain moisture readings in wood up to 1 1/4" below the surface, irrespective of surface moisture. This is a more meaningful (and less destructive) measurement than an oven-drying test which gives only an average moisture content instead of (what one wants to know) the highest moisture content. In buildings, it has been used for measuring moisture in floor joists without lifting floorboards. The pins are insulated and will take measurements only at the tip of the pin providing the insulated coating is in good condition. This latest heavy duty design allows easy pin penetration in hardwood floors. This product will connect to several Protimeter moisture meters, including Mini, Surveymaster, Timbermaster and MMS+.
