The LCD dis - plays incorporate the latest in technological advances, includ - ing GenFlective™ technology. g en F lective ™ technology is a passive approach to brightness and contrast enhancement. Using a proprietary combination of reflec - tive, brightness and contrast enhancing films, sunlight readable performance is achieved. General Digital™ developed GenFlective™ technology to improve daylight and sunlight readable brightness and contrast performance without increased power consumption, heat emission, and backlight augmentation. Another benefit is in - creased backlight bulb life expectancy. General Digital™ defines daylight readable brightness as 343 to 685 nits, and sunlight read - able brightness as 686 nits or greater. Additional features include a wide viewing angle, fast response time and vivid colors. Mounted to solid bearing rack slides, the Rack Mount Hinge Solar™ Series easily glides in and out of your rack chassis. Custom hinges built into the slides permit the LCD to slide out from the chassis and pivot 90 degrees for normal operation. Fully extended, the LCD monitor requires only 6.375" of operator space in front of the rack chassis, leaving the workplace devoid of hazards and the operator unencumbered to perform his or her duties. Occupying only 1U (1.75") of vertical rack space, the devices can be conveniently lo - cated within your rack to optimize its ergonomic performance. The enclosure is constructed of aluminum, providing a cost-effec - tive, lightweight housing that can be used in most commercial/in - dustrial applications. A pair of chassis slides facilitate rack mount - ing and ease of operation. Interface connectors for the video and input power are located on the lower rear portion of the device. The units feature flat panel LCD display sizes from 15" to 19" (diagonal). Regardless of the display size selected, all offer the latest advances in LCD technology, providing users with high brightness/ contrast images, fast response time (suitable for live video) and wide viewing angles. General Digital™ also offers a multitude of optional 1U and 2U keyboards (commercial, industrial and military) to complement the Rack Mount Hinge™. Since the keyboard functions indepen - dently of the display, it can be located at a different height than the LCD monitor to further optimize ergonomic performance.
