Dynament’s FGD10A Flameproof Fixed Gas Detectors are specifically designed for use in potentially explosive atmospheres, where the risk of an incendive spark from electrical equipment could trigger an explosion. In such hazardous environments, commonly found in industries like oil, gas, and chemical processing, strict safety regulations require that all electrical apparatus be housed within flameproof enclosures—also known as FLP, Ex d, or explosion-proof enclosures—to prevent ignition. These ATEX and IECEx certified gas detectors are available in durable cast aluminium as the standard option, or in grade 316 stainless steel for enhanced corrosion resistance (indicated by the suffix ‘-SS’). Each fixed gas detector is equipped with a single sensor, which may be an infrared gas sensor for detecting hydrocarbon gases or carbon dioxide, a pellistor catalytic sensor for monitoring hydrocarbons and hydrogen, or an electrochemical sensor designed to detect specific toxic gases and oxygen.
