The Type 500C is a screw terminal aluminum electrolytic capacitor designed for long-life applications in mainframe computers, UPS, and power supply filtering. It operates from -40 °C to +95 °C with a rated voltage of 10 Vdc and a capacitance of 70,000 µF. The part has a capacitance tolerance of -10% to +75%, an ESR of 15.5 mΩ at 25 °C, and a maximum ripple current of 10.5 A at 85 °C. It features an 1 3/8 inch diameter and 3 1/8 inch length with a low post terminal. The capacitor uses Thermal-Pak™ extended cathode construction for improved heat dissipation and has an endurance life of 5000 hours at 85 °C under full load. Its insulation is a standard 0.008-inch PVC sleeve with a 0.01-inch polypropylene end disk. The part is rated for a surge voltage of 12 Vdc.
