Dixon Automatic Tool, Inc. Robotic Assembly Cell

Description
This assembly system uses a Cartesian Robot to transport a Dixon Auto-Fed servo controlled Driver and Vision System to drive helical wire inserts into transmission housings. Due to casting variations, the Vision System pre-locates all of the driving points on the casting for the Robot. The Dixon Auto-Fed Driver drives 12 helical wire inserts to a precise depth setting at each insertion point. A vibratory feed system orients the inserts before they are escaped one by one and blown into the placement jaws of the Driver. The Vision System is also utilized to inspect the final condition of the driven inserts.
