The CS42432 is a highly integrated audio codec featuring advanced multichannel surround sound performance for entry- and mid-level audio products. This IC includes four single-ended or differential inputs and six single-ended or differential outputs. An auxiliary serial input is available for an additional two channels of PCM (pulse code modulation) data. This IC features six D/A converters that support sample rates up to 192 kHz and provide a dynamic range of up to 108 dB. Each DAC channel provides digital volume control and can operate with differential or single-ended outputs. The four A/D converters also support sample rates up to 192 kHz and provide a dynamic range of up to 105 dB. Digital volume control is provided for each A/D converter, with selectable overflow detection. All of the on-chip converters utilize multi-bit Delta-Sigma modulators to lower out-of-band noise and improve performance. Also included are separate control port and serial port supplies for a glueless interface to DSPs.
