The Brooks Automation PreciseFlex DD4 6-axis is a collaborative robot that offers the precision and repeatability of traditional robots with the ease of use of popular collaborative robots. With direct-drive motors in the base and elbow and a gear belt drive for the Z axis, the PreciseFlexTM offers the benefits of both traditional and collaborative robots. The patented design allows the robots to move at speeds similar to human movement while still adhering to ISO collaborative robot standards for safety.
The cylindrical working volume of these robots requires a smaller footprint in the factory and the design allows for higher tool speed motions with lower kinetic energy. The controls and power supplies are located inside the robot, making it ideal for mobile applications with a reduced overhanging moment. Soft foam covers are also included to cushion collisions and protect operators.
