S88207 is a 50 ohm coaxial cable designed for aerospace and defense applications, featuring a solid silver-plated copper conductor, PTFE dielectric, and dual shielding with a silver-plated copper flat strip braid and silver-plated copper braid. It has an outer diameter of 0.13 inches (3.3 mm), a minimum bend radius of 0.65 inches (16.51 mm), and weighs 1.9 lbs per 100 ft (2.8 kg per 100 m). The cable operates from -55 to +200°C, supports a velocity of propagation of 80%, and provides shielding effectiveness of at least -80 dB. It meets RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC, SAE AS4373E Skydrol resistance, FAR Part 25.869 flame/smoke requirements, and DFARS 252.225-7014 Alt 1. Attenuation is specified as 8.0/8.8 dB/100 ft at 0.4 GHz, rising to 30.0/33.0 dB/100 ft at 5.0 GHz.
S88207 is a 50 Ohm coaxial cable and the industry’s workhorse, with decades of proven performance in the aerospace and defense markets. The S88207 coax cable features low-loss PTFE expanded tape dielectric between the center conductor and the shield and inner braid of silver-plated copper strip braid whichs provides improved shielding and greater strength than conventional wire braid found in M17/60-RG142 cable. When compared to RG142 coax cable, the S88207 has approximately 20% better attenuation figures and less than half the weight (19 lbs vs 43 lbs per 1,000 ft).
