The Digisonic DS5A Active Near Field Reference Monitor Loudspeaker is accurate, low distortion, high quality, self amplified loudspeaker system designed and optimized for recording and reference monitoring. Aimed at the Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) user the DS5A's unique industrial design offers the perfect complement to today's computer-based recording and production environments. Look beyond the DS5A's stunning aesthetic though and you'll find a capable monitor that is at home in professional and home recording facilities alike. Actively bi-amped using an electronic crossover, the DS5A is built around a driver complement consisting of a 1" (25mm) soft dome high frequency driver, and a 5" woofer. The woofer uses a sophisticated Kevlar cone material specially formed to give exceptional rigidity yet low mass. The extreme strength of Kevlar gives excellent cone stiffness for long excursions under very high drive levels, yet at the same time its low mass means the cone can remain truly pistonic at extended frequencies. Fitted with a range of input connectors and a Half-Space LF filter, the DS5A is capable of integrating into nearly any studio environment. Magnetically shielded drivers allow the speaker to be positioned close to CRT monitors and displays without effect. Discrete indicators indicating power status and clip are mounted to the front of the speaker. System The Digisonic DS5A is a "full range" two way direct radiating, ported loudspeaker system in a compact and well damped enclosure bi-amplified with an active crossover. All components are specifically designed for optimum performance as a system. Magnetic shielding is provided on the transducers to allow their use in close proximity to CRT displays. Drivers The Digisonic DS5A driver complement consists of a 1" or 25mm soft dome high frequency driver, and a 5" woofer. The woofer uses a sophisticated Kevlar® cone material specially formed to give exceptional rigidity yet low mass. The extreme "bulletproof" strength of Kevlar® gives excellent low frequency stiffness for long excursions under very high drive levels from the voice coil, yet at the same time its low mass means the cone can remain truly pistonic at extended frequencies.
