The Vecoplan VTH 20 Drum Chipper is designed for producing high-quality wood chips from various wood materials, including slabs, edgings, and round timber. It is primarily utilized in sawmills, furniture factories, and planing mills. The machine features a horizontal feed unit and offers two rotor systems to optimize the shredding process. The first rotor system employs a fast rotating chipping knife for processing clean waste wood, while the second system utilizes a slow-turning ribbed profile rotor with cutting crowns and a toothed counter knife, suitable for shredding timber by-products. This versatility makes the VTH 20 suitable for different applications within the wood processing industry.
With infeed widths of 22, 25 and 34 inches, series 20 drum chippers are stationary machines provided with a horizontal feed unit. In order to grant an optimal shredding process these are available with two different rotor systems. The first rotor system works with a fast rotating chipping knife for shredding short or long lengths of waste wood, free from tramp material, from the timber sizing and wood processing industry in order to produce a defined homogeneous and continuous wood chip. The second rotor system works with a slow-turning rotor that is designed with a ribbed profile rotor with cutting crowns. Furthermore, a toothed counter knife is used with this version. This solution is used for the shredding of waste wood and timber by-products from the wood processing industry.
