The A4983 is a DMOS microstepping motor driver designed for controlling bipolar stepper motors. It supports full, half, quarter, eighth, and sixteenth-step modes with an output capacity of up to 35 V and ±2 A. The driver features automatic current decay mode detection, allowing it to operate in Slow or Mixed decay modes, which enhances step accuracy and reduces audible noise. The device includes built-in protection features such as thermal shutdown, undervoltage lockout (UVLO), and crossover-current protection. It operates with a logic supply voltage compatible with both 3.3 V and 5 V systems. The A4983 is packaged in a compact 28-pin QFN format with an exposed thermal pad for improved heat dissipation.
