Spinel Spherical Thermal Spray Powder #171
Saint-Gobain’s #171 is a spherical white magnesium aluminate (Spinel) powder used primarily for resurfacing parts that require high thermal shock resistance. These coatings resist wetting by liquid aluminum, making it ideal for resurfacing molds, ladles, ladle plugs, ladle lips & other furnace parts. The product is also used for coating oxygen sensors to protect against gas erosion & to control permeability. Saint-Gobain Coating Solutions offers Spinel thermal spray powders that yield coatings with excellent thermal shock resistance. These coatings provide exceptional protection against gas erosion, and are ideal for oxygen sensors, re-surfacing molds, ladle parts & other furnace components.
