SICK Object detection systems: Backup Assistance System BAS1501-C

The BAS1501-C Backup Assistance System is a single-laser scanner collision warning device for internal combustion engine vehicles, designed to monitor the rear end of vehicles in indoor and outdoor environments up to 12 m. It provides visual and acoustic warnings through two configurable zones and operates on a machine voltage range of 12 V to 24 V. The system consumes 10 W (maximum 13 W) and weighs 2,276 g without connecting cables. It is housed in an IP65/IP67-rated enclosure and uses a laser class 1 module compliant with IEC 60825-1:2014 and EN 60825-1:2014+A11:2021. The ambient operating temperature ranges from -20 °C to +50 °C, with storage temperatures from -25 °C to +55 °C. Configuration and warning settings are supported via the SOPAS Air web interface. The unit includes a PICS150 2D LiDAR sensor, mounting plate, RAM mount bracket, and hardware for installation.
