The BSOA-032-20 is a blind threaded standoff from PennEngineering® designed for self-clinching applications. It is suitable for installation in metal sheets as thin as 0.025 inches (0.63 mm) and provides a flush, closed surface on the outer sheet after installation. This standoff is made from hardened stainless steel, making it ideal for use in environments where corrosion resistance is necessary. The BSOA series is specifically engineered for blind hole applications, ensuring that the standoff remains securely mounted without protruding threads on the outer surface. This product is recommended for use in aluminum sheets with a hardness of HRB 50 or less. Custom sizes are available upon request, and additional information can be found on the manufacturer's website.
These standoffs, which use the proven self-clinching design, install with a squeeze in properly sized round holes - and become permanently mounted in the thin sheet.
When blind-threaded types are used, outer sheet surfaces are not only flush, but closed as well.
