Positive Fresnel lenses are designed to manage light with plano and infinite conjugate configurations. The SC 255 lens has a focal length of 128.3 mm, a clear aperture of 126.7 mm, a facet spacing of 0.254 mm, and a consistent thickness of 1.8 mm. It is fabricated from PMMA, optimized for 546 nm wavelength light, with a refractive index of 1.49 and relative dispersion of 58. All lenses in this series have a standard thickness of 1.8 mm, though other thicknesses down to 0.8 mm are possible upon request.
Positive Fresnel Lenses can be designed as a collimator, collector or with finite conjugates. They are usually corrected for spherical aberration.
The designs can be trimmed according to customer requirements (within limits of clear aperture). It is possible to combine a Fresnel lens structure with other structures like diffusers or microlens arrays in the same part through double-sided structuring. Optical coatings for increased efficiency are possible.
