Positive Fresnel lenses are designed to focus or collimate light for applications requiring precise light management. The SC 205 lens has a focal length of 282.8 mm, a clear aperture of 0.076 mm, an infinite plano conjugate, a Fresnel conjugate of 610.0 mm, and a thickness of 1.8 mm. The lens is made of PMMA and is standardized for a wavelength of 546 nm with a ±5% tolerance. Its dimensions exceed the clear aperture by up to 5-20 mm. All specifications apply to the standard PMMA material with a refractive index of 1.49.
Positive Fresnel Lenses can be designed as a collimator, collector or with finite conjugates. They are usually corrected for spherical aberration.
The designs can be trimmed according to customer requirements (within limits of clear aperture). It is possible to combine a Fresnel lens structure with other structures like diffusers or microlens arrays in the same part through double-sided structuring. Optical coatings for increased efficiency are possible.
