The PTN series consists of translational resistance elements designed for installation in compact, closed applications where space constraints prevent the use of traditional position transducers. Constructed with a glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin carrier and a conductive plastic resistance element, each unit features a precious metal multi-finger wiper and lead wires for soldering. Available in seven standard lengths from 45 mm to 273 mm total length, with mechanical travel ranging from 34.5 mm to 262.5 mm, the elements offer outstanding linearity and a service life of up to 50 million movements depending on application. They are suitable for mounting by bonding or clamping and are intended for use in actuators, measuring and control systems, and medical devices. The direction of output characteristic is defined relative to the electrical connections.
