The NPM140SG-D is a piezoelectric micrometer adapter with integrated strain-gauge position feedback for closed-loop operation, providing a closed-loop travel range of 90 µm and resolution of 1 nm. It offers a maximum axial load capacity of 100 N, an open-loop travel range of 140 µm, and a resonant frequency of 670 Hz. The adapter is mechanically compatible with Newport stages and mounts featuring a standard 0.375" (9.5 mm) mounting shank, and retains the manual actuator 22 mm back from its normal position, requiring actuators with extended travel. Weighing 125 g, it includes a 1.2 m cable with a Sub-D15 connector and is designed for use with XPS motion controllers. The strain-gauge sensor is configured in a full Wheatstone bridge for temperature-insensit
The NPM140SG-D Piezoelectric Micrometer Adapter provides nanometer positioning capability for manual products. This adapter mounts to the actuator seat on the stage and is mechanically compatible with all Newport stages and mounts with a 0.375 inch (9.5mm) diameter mounting flange. Coarse adjustment is done with the manual screw. The final and fine adjustment is accomplished by controlling the piezo voltage of the NPM140. The extraordinary long travel range of 140 μm is provided by a sophisticated wire-EDM flexure system, which also serves as a linear guide for the actuator tip. The NPM140SG can be operated in open or closed-loop mode. The resolution in open-loop mode is in the sub-nanometer range. The NPM140SG features a high resolution strain-gauge position sensor for highly accurate and repeatable closed-loop motion. Also, the position feedback compensates for piezo stack creep. For highest position stability and highest temperature-insensit
Comes with a Dsub25 connector with smart EEPROM. Use with XPS Motion Controller, XPS-DRVP1 Driver Module required.
