The URS50BCC is a precision motorized rotation stage integrated with the CONEX-CC controller, designed for continuous 360¬8 motion in a compact form factor. It features a DC motor with a maximum speed of 20¬8/s and a load capacity of 100 N. The stage utilizes a high-resolution rotary encoder for accurate positioning, achieving a typical bi-directional repeatability of ¬±0.0005¬8 and an accuracy of ¬±0.010¬8. The proprietary ball bearing design ensures exceptional stiffness and reliability, while the flexible preloading system minimizes backlash. The URS50BCC is compatible with various Newport linear stages and includes adjustable limit switches to prevent over travel. CONEX-URS50BCC is a rotation stage integrated with a CONEX-CC controller. The URS50BCC provides precision 360° continuous motion in a low profile package, compatible with the XM, GTS, ILS, IMS and other linear stages. The stage has adjustable limit switches to prevent over travel. All URS rotation stages feature a proprietary 4-point contact, 2-piece bearing design provides exceptional stiffness, high reliability, and outstanding wobble and eccentricity. The flexible preloading system of the worm gear guarantees a minimum backlash operation. The CONEX-CC is a very compact and inexpensive linear driver that has been optimized for Newport’s low power DC servo motor driven devices. Compared to cheaper PWM amplifiers, the CONEX-CC delivers smoother motion with less electrical noise and significantly less motor heating.
The CONEX™ controller comes with a USB cable and a CONEX-PS-CB for daisy-chaining modules. Power supply to be ordered separately. For OEM applications, an optional retainer to secure the USB and power cables is available.
Compact Controller and Stage
In terms of size, the CONEX-CC controller is comparable to a deck of cards. Depending on the motor type, up to 3 CONEX-PP or 6 CONEX-CC can fit on a CONEX-BP baseplate. Both controller and stage are compact and ideal for space-confined or access-limited applications. Newport also offers the stand alone version of these Low Profile Rotation Stages.
Scalable Architecture
The CONEX rotation units can be connected via daisy chain to create either multi-axis DC systems or multi-axis PP systems. For added convenience, the power can be shared with up to 5 CONEX-CC modules using the optional CONEX-PS-CB power chain cable. This allows for a convenient low cost multi-axis system. Additionally, analog and digital inputs can be implemented into the controller through the CONEX-IOD.
Out-of-the-box Control
For out-of-the box control, the CONEX controller is preconfigured and delivered with the motion device. To start moving a sample or sensor, it simply requires plugging in the power supply, connecting the USB communication and starting the free motion GUI.
Linear Amplifier in DC Units
The low-noise linear amplifier of the CONEX-CC provides the optimum drive solution for low-power DC motors; delivering smoother motion, with less electrical noise and significantly less motor heating.
