ARMATEX™ CS 42 is a ceramic-coated silica fabric designed for insulation pads, equipment protection, and thermal barriers in indoor and outdoor environments. It has a nominal thickness of 0.053 inches, a width of 36 inches, and weighs 42 oz/square yard. The silica base fabric withstands temperatures up to 1800°F (982°C), while the ceramic coating is rated from -65°F to 250°F (-53°C to 121°C). It is supplied in 50-yard rolls with a warp x fill tensile strength of 567 x 61 lbs/in² and is white in color, with custom colors available. Tolerances are ±10% unless otherwise specified.
ARMATEX® Ceramic Coated Fabrics are comprised of a cured, high-temperature coating applied to a variety of high-temperature resistant base fabrics. The ceramic coating enhances strength, adds dimensional stability, and reduces fraying of the fabric in fabrication, as well improving weather resistance and heat resistance of the fabric. Typical uses for ARMATEX® Ceramic Coated Fabrics include removable insulation pads and covers, protection against molten metal splash and welding splatter, and thermal insulation seals and barriers.
