SILTEX® 1800 Silica Sleeving is a braided textile made from 96% amorphous silica yarn, designed for high-temperature protection in industrial environments exposing materials to molten metals and extreme heat. It has a continuous use limit of 1800°F (982°C) and a short-term exposure limit of 2300°F (1260°C), with a melting point of 2300°F (1260°C). The sleeving is available in diameters ranging from 1/8 inch to 20 inches and has a thickness range of 0.060 inch to 0.125 inch, with a tolerance of ±10%.
Comprised of 96% amorphous silica fibers, SILTEX® Silica Textiles are excellent for use as high-temperature resistant insulation where high strength and flexibility are required. Available as rope, tape or sleeving, our silica textiles are unaffected by most chemicals, except strong alkalis, hydrofluouric acid or sodium.
