The H23-080 is an internally amplified hydrophone designed for a variety of underwater acoustic measurements. It features a nominal sensitivity of -174 dB re 1 V/¬µPa and a nominal voltage sensitivity of 2.00 mV/Pa. The hydrophone has a frequency response of ¬±4 dB at 80 kHz and operates effectively within a range of 15 Hz to 10 kHz. It is equipped with an ultra-low noise internal amplifier that mitigates triboelectric cable noise and connector contamination issues, eliminating the need for an external amplifier. Constructed with pre-aged piezoelectric (PZT) sensing elements, the H23-080 promotes long-term stability. The unit is encapsulated in polyurethane to prevent water intrusion and is rated for a maximum operating static pressure of 1000 PSI, equivalent to a depth of 680 meters in seawater. The hydrophone operates within a temperature range of -10 to +60 ¬8C and requires a supply voltage of 18 to 24 VDC with a current draw of 4 to 10 mA. Applications for the H23-080 include military surveillance, underwater biological studies, and monitoring of underwater machinery and ordnance. The hydrophone comes with a standard 10 ft twisted shielded cable and can be customized for longer lengths upon request.
