Mach III Clutch, Inc. Clutch Mechanism w/ Coupling, Heavy Duty M6G2K-STH

Description
Operation Friction type heavy duty clutch mechanism engages with air pressure, spring released when air is exhausted Torque is linear in response to air pressure applied Mounting Set screws and customer supplied key connect the heavy duty clutch mechanism to one shaft and the coupling hub to a fully supported second shaft Shafts must be accurately aligned to prevent premature failure Anti-rotation arm required to prevent rotation of the air housing Heavy duty clutch mechanisms are designed for horizontal mounting. If vertical mounting is required, consult engineering for options Note: Heavy Duty Clutch Mechanism DOES NOT support coupling Applications Heavy duty clutch mechanisms are suitable for cycling applications connecting and disconnecting two fully supported shafts Maximum RPM varies by model. Please consult the detail sheets (below). Consult engineering if the intended application exceeds the listed maximum RPM. Design Features Both heavy duty clutch mechanism and coupling bored to suit up to the maximum shown (US & Metric) to accept differing shaft sizes Splined drive and toothed friction discs for heavy duty service Available with either high or low* coefficient friction linings for same price

Operation

  • Friction type heavy duty clutch mechanism engages with air pressure, spring released when air is exhausted
  • Torque is linear in response to air pressure applied

Mounting

  • Set screws and customer supplied key connect the heavy duty clutch mechanism to one shaft and the coupling hub to a fully supported second shaft
  • Shafts must be accurately aligned to prevent premature failure
  • Anti-rotation arm required to prevent rotation of the air housing
  • Heavy duty clutch mechanisms are designed for horizontal mounting. If vertical mounting is required, consult engineering for options
  • Note: Heavy Duty Clutch Mechanism DOES NOT support coupling

Applications

  • Heavy duty clutch mechanisms are suitable for cycling applications connecting and disconnecting two fully supported shafts
  • Maximum RPM varies by model. Please consult the detail sheets (below). Consult engineering if the intended application exceeds the listed maximum RPM.

Design Features

  • Both heavy duty clutch mechanism and coupling bored to suit up to the maximum shown (US & Metric) to accept differing shaft sizes
  • Splined drive and toothed friction discs for heavy duty service
  • Available with either high or low* coefficient friction linings for same price
