DurAlert can function as audible/visual, audible only, or visual only via wiring selection
Available in safe area, hazardous location, and hearing-impaired models
Safe area and hazardous location models are available in 24 Vdc or 120–240 Vac and offer four flash patterns—steady-on, simulated strobe, 60 FPM, and 120 FPM—plus four tones: 2.6 kHz temporal 3 fire, temporal 4 gas, continuous, and 2.6 kHz/2 kHz hi-lo, with selectable high/low audible and visual output
Hearing-impaired models are available in 24 Vdc only and are factory set to Temporal 3 tone and simulated strobe at 60 FPM with a 20-millisecond pulse visual pattern
Lens options vary by model: safe area and hazardous location models are available in amber, blue, clear, green, or red, while hearing-impaired models use a clear lens
All models are rated for indoor/outdoor use, Type 4X, IP66 enclosure (when installed with panel mount gasket or weatherproof backbox), IP69K compliant (refer to manual for mounting instructions)
Features
DurAlert™ is a rugged, high-output audible and visual signaling device designed for safe area, hazardous locations, and fire alarm applications. It provides reliable signaling for safety-critical and process control applications, with multiple signaling modes and simple field configuration. For fire alarm applications, DurAlert provides reliable notification for life safety systems and is factory configured to meet applicable fire signaling codes and standards.
The device supports audible and visual, visual-only, or audible-only operation via onboard jumper settings to reduce installation and changeover time. Visual signaling options include steady-on, simulated strobe, 60 FPM, and 120 FPM for various warning and alerting conditions. Audible signaling options include continuous, hi-lo, and temporal patterns for evacuation and gas alert applications. A high/low output selection provides additional application flexibility.
For audible and visual fire alarm operation, Temporal 3 audible tone and simulated strobe at 60 FPM with a 20-millisecond pulse visual pattern is used. These settings support clear fire evacuation notification and are not intended for field modification.
DurAlert is designed for surface-mount installation on walls, panels, or enclosures. Use optional weatherproof WB-NM-R backbox when installing safe area (DRT) models outdoors or in wet environments. Hazardous location models (DRTX) include a backbox that features three 1/2-inch conduit entries to support flexible installation in industrial environments. Models are offered in 24 Vdc or 120–240 Vac and feature a Type 4X / IP66 enclosure for indoor or outdoor use. Safe area location (DRT) and hazardous location models (DRTX) are UL and cUL listed for use in commercial and certification driven industrial applications. DurAlert is well suited for safe area locations requiring a Type 4X enclosure rating and hazardous locations classified as Class I, Division 2. Hearing impaired models are UL and ULC Fire Listed, NFPA 72 and ULC-S524 compliant for use in commercial and hazardous location fire alarm applications.
