The SABMBOVP226 is a precision dual over-voltage protection printed circuit board populated with an ALD910026SALI SAB MOSFET IC, designed for balancing series-connected supercapacitors. The board measures 0.6 inches by 1.6 inches and includes mounting holes. It provides a threshold voltage of 2.60V, at which the output current is typically 1.0mA, with clamp current rising sharply to about 100mA at 2.63V. The circuit limits voltage excursion to within 100mV of the threshold, enabling energy-efficient, automatic balancing with near-zero power dissipation below 2.50V. It operates across the industrial temperature range of -40°C to +85°C and is RoHS compliant. The board contains two matched OVP circuits, enabling balancing of two supercapacitors in series, and supports cascading for multi-cell stacks.
ALD offers a line of Supercapacitor Auto Balancing Integrated Circuits (IC) as well as SAB and SABOVP (Over-Voltage Protection) Printed Circuit Boards (PCB). The SABOVP PCBs provide voltage balancing of series-connected supercapacitors through superior over-voltage clamping circuitry. These products, when used in appropriately designed applications, dissipate near-zero leakage currents, practically eliminating extra power dissipation. Supercapacitors connected in series stacks can be balanced with various combinations of multiple cascaded SABMB or SABMBOVP packages.
