Open-Style, Non-Fused Disconnect Switches The S-5000 Series open-style, non-fused disconnect switches offer superior switching capabilities according to the new UL98B standard for photovoltaic applications. These switches have been ETL certified by Underwriters Laboratories. This new standard extends the system voltage capabilities beyond the 600 V limit of the UL98 standard and supports more efficient photovoltaic systems that operate at higher voltage levels. These switch models allow solar integrators and OEMs to achieve 1000 V ratings according to the UL1741 standard for inverters and interconnection systems (combiner boxes and recombiner assemblies). S-5000 switches provide direct current circuit load-make/load-break switching between 250 and 1250 amps at 1000 VDC Available in three frame sizes, current ratings include 250 A (Size 1), 400 A (Size 2) and 1250 A (Size 4) The switches can be wired in any one of three configurations: 4+0 (positive polarity switching only), 3+1 or 2+2 (breaking the positive and negative system polarities) Shrouds separate the opposite switch polarities and are available in numerous configurations with various wiring provisions Shafts and handles are sold separately and can satisfy NEMA ratings up to and including NEMA 4X Optional auxiliary switches can also be mounted to the S-5000 Series switches to provide control signaling Switch bodies can be factory mounted on multi-switch frames that allow for simultaneous switching of two, three or four switches Additional customized options are available
