Zippertubing Co. (The) Resealable Synthetic Fiber Fastener Tape Hook And Loop (Polyester)

Description
The Hook and Loop closure consists of dissimilar woven tapes comprised of synthetic hook filaments on one side and loop fibers on the other. The closure is sealed when the hooks are forced into the loops causing the hook barbs to engage and catch the loop side. The hook barbs can be pulled out of the loops numerous times with only minor damage creating a closure that can be re-entered and resealed. The tapes and their associated hooks and loops are available in Nylon, Nylon/Aramid and Polyester materials. Tape widths vary from 1/2" to 2.0" and are available in Black & White colors as well as special high temperature variants. The tapes can be applied to all Jacket material types, however the best performance will be obtained when applied to coated fabric jacket materials. Hoop strength averages 8.0 lbs/linear-inch (1/2†tape) and will vary with tape widths. Hook and Loop closures can be quite strong in the peel direction, but can open up when subjected to shear loads. When continuous shear force is applied to the closure, the hooks will slide off and around the loops fibers over time causing the joint to open up. Avoid this closure in applications where a great deal of twist, dirt exposure and/or liquids are present. The loop fibers will collect and hold these materials and mat up making the closure system inoperable. The Hook and Loop closure should also be avoided in "clean room" applications because of the debris generated when the system is opened and closed. This closure system can be used with all EMI Shielding material options in Round, Flat and Rectangular configurations with cable sizes of 1/2" and up. No tooling is required to open or close this system.
