Zaber’s X-LCA4 is a 4-channel LED controller that is designed to be paired with Zaber’s MLR and MLT Series microscope illuminators. It is capable of driving 4 LEDs simultaneously with up to 3 A of current each. The X-LCA4 interfaces with embedded electronics within each MLR/MLT channel to automatically detect the LED wavelength and maximum driving current and to monitor the LED die temperature. The X-LCA4 can be connected directly to a 48 V power supply and USB port or it can be daisy chained with any other Zaber products and controlled through a single USB connection. The daisy-chain also shares power, making it possible for multiple X-Series products to share a single power supply. X-LCA4 devices are easily set up and allow LED control through our free Zaber Launcher software, µManager open source microscopy software or custom programs through the use of Zaber Motion Library API. Alternatively, each LED can be switched on/off with very low latency using 4 TTL-compatible digital inputs.
