WEDECO, a Xylem brand UV Disinfection System LBX 90

The LBX series fulfils all requirements for safe, economical and environmentally friendly disinfection of water with low UV transmittance such as biological treated wastewater or specific drinking water qualities. The LBX series combines the WEDECO Spektrotherm® lamp with a hydraulically optimized reactor chamber. The tight positioning of the lamps enables the treatment of water with low UV transmittance. Electronic ballasts specifically configured for Spektrotherm® lamps are used to increase efficiency and lifetime. The result is a very compact design, improved economy and maximum disinfection performance even with turbid water. Flow rates up to 8.5 MGD per reactor are now possible. Vario dose control: Never use more power than required The Spektrotherm® lamps are powered by the latest electronic ballast technology and controlled by a highly selective calibrated UV intensity sensor. Based on the actual UV dose requirement, the lamp power setting is varied between 50 and 100%, resulting in the lowest power consumption possible. Automatic wiping system keeps the quartz sleeves crystal clear By design, the WEDECO LBX Series is easy and simple to maintain. However, for water qualities with increased fouling potential, the LBX units can be optionally fitted with an automatic wipig system, which prevents the formation of organic and inorganic deposits on the protective quartz sleeves. The chemical-free wiping system is using Teflon/Viton wiper rings to keep the quartz sleeves clear. In addition, two brushes clean the UV sensor head automatically as they are attached to the wiping system.
