The LF925GD is a ductile iron pressure relief and surge anticipator control valve designed to manage pressure fluctuations in water systems. It features a one-piece disc and diaphragm assembly, which is the sole moving part, allowing for efficient operation in response to pressure signals. The valve is constructed from ductile iron (ASTM A536) with a fusion-bonded epoxy coating for corrosion resistance, and it includes trim components made from 316 stainless steel. This valve operates effectively at pressures up to 250 psi for 150 flanged and 400 psi for 300 flanged configurations. It supports a maximum continuous flow rate of up to 11,100 gallons per minute, depending on the valve size, and can handle temperatures up to 300¬8F with EPDM elastomers. The LF925GD is suitable for applications requiring reliable pressure management, particularly in scenarios involving pump operations and potential power failures.
Designed to minimize the effects of water hammer and pressure surges resulting from: 1) Normal pump starting and stopping operations or 2) Mechanical or electrical power failure situations. The valve senses pressure changes above and below normal pumping operation directly from the pump station discharge header, and opens on either a high or low pressure signal.
If discharge header pressure exceeds the adjustable setpoint, the valve opens quickly to dissipate the high pressure surge.
If discharge header pressure falls below the adjustable setpoint, the valve opens in anticipation of a returning high pressure wave. This condition normally occurs during a mechanical or electrical power failure situation.
The valve is equipped with a unique hydraulic accumulator closing system to avoid system siphonage.
