Visual Sound, Inc. V-Systems Loudspeaker System VM 15

Description
Dynacord The VM15 has been designed as 15"/2" 2- way floor monitor for active and passive use. Low-frequency range sound reproduction is taken care of by an Electro-Voice 15" speaker system - DL 15Y - which radiates into an optimally vented cabinet. A DH 7 driver that is mounted on a HP 66 Constant-Q Horn with a nominal dispersion angle of 60°x 60° represents the Hi-frequency range. The acoustic crossover frequency from Low to Hi range is 3 kHz. The slope of the integrated frequency crossover is 12 dB / octave (Butterworth). The connection board offers NL 4 MPR Speakon- type connectors. The pin-assignment in passive mode is 1+ / 1-. Switching from passive to active 2-way operation is performed via two slider switches that are located on the connection board. In this configuration, the low-frequency audio signal is fed via the pins 1+ / 1- to the 15" speaker system and via the pins 2+ / 2- the high-frequency signal controls the 2" driver. In either operation mode, thermal breakers or halogen lamps provide secure protection against critical output levels and short-term thermal overload. Suitable for driving the VM-15 are S or L-Series power amplifiers as well as their combination with a DSP244 for active operation. Used together with an appropriate equalizer module (Xm15 for passive and XM15 Lo and Xm15 Hi for active operation), the power amps of the modular X-Amps Series - e.g. the X 1202 - are especially recommended to be used to drive the VM-15. The enclosure of the VM15 is made of 18 mm birch multi-plywood.
