EAW - Eastern Acoustic Works, Inc. Long throw MF Phased PointSource Technology™ module. (3) 10-in. MF on separate SimplePhase™ horns. PPST™ systems build arrays for the largest spaces. Pre-configured DSP defines coverage by integrating cells and modules to fit its application. The KF920 is a dedicated mid-frequency long throw/downfill module engineered for use with Phase PointSource Technology digital signal processing in the creation of PPST arrays. It provides such high output of mid frequency information that care should be taken with its use. Listeners in its immediate nearfield at maximum output may suffer permanent damage to their hearing. The system comprises three cells each consisting of a specially designed 10-inch mid frequency cone loaded on a 30° horizontal coverage SimplePhase horn with phase plug. Vertical coverage is determined by PPST processing. PPST processing focuses the output of the three cells onto the main axis while providing smooth frequency response and appropriate attenuation at points below the horizontal axis up to -60°. This allows a single KF920 mid frequency module to provide coverage over an area from just 25 feet to over 600 feet from the array. SimplePhase horns were specially designed to facilitate the PPST process. Horizontal coverage is an idealized 30 degrees over the entire operating bandwidth. Unlike Virtual Array Technologys complex horn flares designed for control of individual drivers -- the simple lines of the SimplePhase horns produce phase coherent summation with other drivers within the module. A toggle switch controls the KF920s only passive filtering which provides appropriate settings for modules located in inner or outer columns. Outboard digital signal processors must provide all other system control.
