1.1 The cabinets covered by these requirements are intended for installation in accordance with the National Fire Protection Association Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code, NFPA 30, the Fire Code, NFPA 1, the relevant sections of the "National Fire Code of Canada" or the International Fire Code (IFC) published by the International Code Council. 1.2 A storage cabinet may have a maximum total storage capacity of not more than: a) In the United States: 120 US gal (454 L) of flammable and combustible liquids with the maximum capacity rating assigned by the manufacturer. b) In Canada: 132 US gal (500 L) of flammable and combustible liquids with the maximum capacity rating assigned by the manufacturer. 1.3 Construction and performance requirements for the cabinet are primarily based on the National Fire Protection Association Flammable and Combustible Liquids Code, NFPA 30, the Fire Code, NFPA 1, and the International Fire Code (IFC) published by the International Code Council.
