PTFE adapters can withstand corrosive fluids, such as 98% sulfuric acid, better than stainless steel other, more exotic materials. Materials are also rated for very high continuous temperatures up to 500 F. Fittings are commonly used in any industry dealing with highly corrosive chemicals and or the need for high purity including pharmaceuticals, semi-conductor mfg., food and dairy, water purifications and chemical production.
