U.S. Plastic Corporation CPVC Pipe Schedule 40 and 80 29015

Description
SCOPE: This specification covers requirement for schedule 40 and 80 CPVC pressure pipe as described in ASTM F-441. MATERIAL: CPVC used is of type 4, grade 1 compound as stated in ASTM D-1784 manufactured by Harvel Plastics Inc. MARKING: Indicates manufacture's name, material designation code, nominal pipe size, schedule size with pressure rating in psi for water 73F, ASTM designation No. F-441, NSF seal for potable water and manufacture's date code. Standard pipe length is 20 feet but can be purchased in lengths of 5, 10 or 15 feet. Schedule 80 pipe can be used with threaded and socket joints; schedule 40 pipe is not recommended for threading. Socket joints are assembled with solvent pipe cement; for threaded joints use PTFE tape. NSF Listed. 33 - 200F. working temperature, high tensile strength, non combustible, low thermal conductivity, low flow resistance. Not recommended for use with compressed air or gases. This CPVC (Chlorinated Polyvinyl) material has comparable corrosion resistance to PVC pipe, yet it is suitable for handling corrosive material at temperatures 40 to 60F. higher than PVC. It is lightweight material about 1/6 that of copper, and easy to assemble and install. Job-site erection of a leakproof joint can be made in minutes with solvent cement, or by threading. Pipe lengths can be cut to length quickly and easily with a saw. Not U.V. stabilized. NSF 61 listed. 1/4" - 6" Pipe is priced per foot, sold in 5' or 10' intervals only. 8" - 18" is priced per foot, sold in 10' intervals only. Schedule 40 and 80 pipe 8" and larger are non-returnable.
