The OP598A is an NPN silicon phototransistor in a TO-18 equivalent package with a 25° viewing angle, designed for use in non-contact sensing applications. It has a collector-emitter voltage rating of 30 V, a collector-dark current of up to 100 nA at 10 V, and a collector-emitter saturation voltage of up to 0.40 V under specified lighting conditions. The device operates within a temperature range of -40°C to +100°C, supports a continuous collector current of 50 mA, and dissipates up to 250 mW. It is 100% production tested for correlation with GaAlAs infrared emitters and is RoHS compliant.
