U.S. Tsubaki Power Transmission, LLC BRUS Series Cam Clutch BRUS45

Description
At Tsubaki, we design and manufacture a broad selection of power transmission and motion control products to suit various customer needs. Our recent product offering addition – the BRUS series – is a line of external backstops designed for use in high-speed backstopping applications. The high-performance products offer enhanced efficiency, reliability, and safety compared to other high-speed external backstops available in the market. General Role & Applications of External Backstops External backstops play a critical role in the belt conveyor and bucket elevator systems used across a wide range of industries. They stop the driveshaft from rotating in the wrong direction, which protects the motor from running in reverse and prevents the machine from moving backward in the event of power loss. These functions are especially important in applications involving the conveyance of heavy materials on an incline or over long distances at high speeds. In these situations, a reversal in the operation of the motor or the movement of the machine can lead to employee injury or equipment damage. Besides belt conveyors and bucket elevators used for bulk material conveyance applications, external backstops are also installed in a variety of other equipment, including, but not limited to, the following: Pumps and ventilators used in fluid transport operations Indexing devices integrated into industrial processing machines High speed fans used in cooling operations BRUS Series Features, Benefits, & Models The Tsubaki BRUS series external backstops are designed as a replacement for Falk® BIF model external backstops used on many Falk® gear reducers. Some of the key features of the BRUS are: High-torque capacity and non-rollover cam design that prevents rollover even in torque overload situations. Lift-off cam design that allows for lower operating temperatures and longer service life Unique felt ring seals and labyrinth body seals that protect against the egress of grease or ingress of contaminants Reusable torque arm for added savings during regular maintenance and replacement The product line includes three models: BRUS45 offers torque capacities up to 700 lb.ft. (950 Nm) and inner race overrunning speed range of 400 to 3,600 RPM. It is available with bore sizes ranging from 1.125 in. (28.58 mm) to 1.625 in. (41.40 mm). BRUS60 offers torque capacities up to 1,770 lb.ft. (2,400 Nm) and inner race overrunning speed capacities up 400 to 2,400 RPM. It is available with bore sizes ranging from 1.750 in. (44.45 mm) to 2.250 in. (57.15 mm). BRUS90 offers torque capacities up to 4,420 lb.ft. (6,600 Nm) and inner race overrunning speed capacities up 400 to 1,800 RPM. It is available with bore sizes ranging from 2.250 in. (57.15 mm) to 3.750 in. (95.25 mm). Superior High-Speed External Backstop Solutions at Tsubaki Designed and manufactured using over 100 years of engineering and manufacturing expertise, our all-new BRUS series external backstops are a superior backstop solution for high-speed applications.
