The TMC332-EVAL makes it possible to evaluate the features of the TMC332 high precision sequencer together with a 2- or 3-phase stepping motor. With the evaluation software there is access to all the TMC332 registers. For stand-alone operation the TMC332-EVAL is equipped with three control keys and a potentiometer. The TMC332 is controlled by a TMC428 motion controller. Via the step/direction interface it is also possible to control the TMC332 with an external motion controller. An incremental encoder can be added for position monitoring. With the high resolution micro step sequencer the TMC332 can operate three high resolution PWM units to control either four half bridges for 2-phase stepper motors or three half bridges for 3-phase stepper motors. On the TMC332-EVAL the half bridges are driven by two (one in three phase stepping mode) TMC603 predriver.
This board is shipped with a preliminary version of the TMC332 in a TQFP100 package. The final version of the TMC332 is only available in a FBGA144 package.
