This specification details Thermal Wire and Cable Corporation's FEP insulated multi-conductor sensor cables jacketed with a modified silicone rubber. FEP fluoropolymer insulation exhibits excellent high-temperature resistance, non-stick characteristics, weather resistance and low temperature flexibility. Standard construction is not UL Listed.
Silicone rubber adds enhanced flexibility (when compared to FEP jacketed cables) and enhances overall appearance. Braidless silicone cables are easier to mold and add strain reliefs when compared to fluoropolymer jacketed cables. The use of the modified silicone compound renders a cable that is rounder and has enhanced bend and flex technology, when compared to many fluoropolymer jacketed cables.
FEP Fluoropolymer insulated conductors help reduce overall cable dimensions, and use space age Teflon as the primary insulation, have high dielectric qualities, are high temp and chemical resistant. Insulated conductors UL recognized and CSA certified per UL 83 and subject 758.
The standard color for the Silicone Rubber cable jacket is black, but other colors available upon request. Optional is the Silicone jacket with special legend, which could include your company name, part number etc.
Silicone rubber compounds are inherently not known for their abrasion resistance. We recommend that if these cables are used in an area where abrasion resistance is critical, additional protection may be required and Thermal Sales professionals can inform you of the sufficient method suitable for your application.
Available in shielded pairs, triads, RTDs, overall shield, thermocouple alloys, etc. Available with stainless steel braid armor aluminum or CLX armor. UL Listing available upon request. Teflon is a registered trademark of the Du Pont Corporation.
