The SN74AVCA406ZQCR is a voltage translation transceiver designed for interfacing microprocessors with various memory card standards, including MultiMediaCards (MMC), Secure Digital (SD) cards, Memory Stick compliant products, SmartMedia cards, and xD-Picture Cards. It features configurable I/O switching levels with dual-supply pins, allowing operation over a power-supply range of 1.4 V to 3.6 V. The device provides high ESD protection, rated at ±15 kV for air-gap discharge and ±8 kV for contact discharge, eliminating the need for external ESD diodes. The transceiver supports low-power operation by placing the A-port in a high-impedance state when the card-side supply voltage is switched off. It is capable of interfacing with different types of memory cards through configurable mode pins (MODE0 and MODE1), accommodating 1-bit, 4-bit, or 8-bit memory card interfaces.
