The SN65LBC182 is a half-duplex differential bus transceiver designed for balanced transmission lines, compliant with ANSI standard TIA/EIA-485-A and ISO 8482. It features a high input resistance equivalent to one-fourth unit load, allowing connection of up to 128 devices on the bus. The device supports signaling rates up to 250 kbps and incorporates slew-rate-controlled outputs, which facilitate longer cable runs and stub lengths. With a robust ESD protection rating of 15 kV, the SN65LBC182 is suitable for applications in electrically noisy environments, such as industrial process control and building automation. The transceiver operates from a single 5-V power supply and is characterized for a temperature range of -40¬8C to 85¬8C.
