The SN54HCT245 is an octal bus transceiver designed for asynchronous two-way communication between data buses. It operates within a voltage range of 4.5 V to 5.5 V and features high-current 3-state outputs capable of driving bus lines directly or up to 15 LSTTL loads. The device has a low power consumption of 80 ¬µA maximum and a typical propagation delay of 14 ns. It provides ¬±6 mA output drive at 5 V and has a low input current of 1 ¬µA maximum, with inputs that are TTL-compatible. The transceiver includes a direction control (DIR) input to select data transmission from the A bus to the B bus or vice versa, and an output-enable (OE) input to disable the device, effectively isolating the buses. This product is suitable for various applications, including factory automation, grid infrastructure, electronic point of sale systems, multi-function printers, motor drives, storage, and telecom infrastructure. The JM38510/65553BSA variant is packaged in a 20-pin CFP configuration and is rated for operation in temperatures from -55¬8C to 125¬8C.
