The DRV8880PWP is a bipolar stepper motor driver in a 28-pin HTSSOP package with an exposed thermal pad, measuring 9.70 mm × 4.40 mm. It operates from a 6.5 V to 45 V supply and can deliver up to 2.0 A full-scale output current or 1.4 A rms current with proper PCB thermal management. The device features a STEP/DIR interface supporting microstepping up to 1/16 step, adaptive blanking time, and configurable decay modes including smart tune. It includes a 3.3 V, 10 mA internal LDO regulator, low-current sleep mode with 28 µA quiescent current at 25°C, and protection features such as overcurrent, undervoltage, and thermal shutdown. Fault conditions are indicated via an open-drain nFAULT pin.
