The FlexiForce A401 is a piezoresistive force sensor designed for applications requiring a large sensing area of 25.4 mm (1 in.) in diameter. It features a thin and flexible design with a thickness of 0.203 mm (0.008 in.), making it suitable for various integration scenarios. The sensor operates within a force range of 111 N (0 - 25 lb) but can measure forces up to 31,138 N (7,000 lb) by adjusting the drive voltage and feedback resistor. The A401 is compatible with Tekscan's test and measurement electronics, including the OEM Development Kit and FlexiForce Quickstart Board, as well as user-provided electronics. It has a response time of less than 5 microseconds and demonstrates good linearity, repeatability, and durability, with a lifespan of over 3 million actuations under specified conditions. The operating temperature range is from -40¬8C to 60¬8C (-40¬8F to 140¬8F), making it versatile for various environments. The sensor is ROHS compliant and features a 2-pin male square pin connector for easy integration.

The A401 has a 2-pin connector. This is our standard sensor with the largest sensing area: 25.4 mm (1 in.). A401 sensors are available in one force range: 111 N (0 - 25 lb).* The force ranges stated are approximations. The dynamic range of this versatile force sensor can be modified by changing the drive voltage and adjusting the resistance of the feedback resistor.
